Take in a live music set, dance or dine at one of Flint’s local clubs. If you need a weekend wind down, step into yoga under the stars and discover your inner peace. X, the new high-end cocktail lounge is right across from the Capitol Theatre.

Thursdays, 6 p.m. to midnight; Fridays and Saturdays, 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. – Now is a great time to check out X, the new high-end cocktail lounge at 555 S. Saginaw St., right across from the Capitol Theatre. It has 15 featured cocktails – sip, don’t guzzle – and be ready to mingle. This place attracts a great crowd. The main seating area accommodates about 20 for a cozier space that allows casual conversations.

Thursday, June 28; 7 p.m. – 2 a.m. – Long Road Distillers Cocktail Night at Soggy Bottom Bar. Enjoy specialty cocktails, Michigan inspired food specials and live music by Big Donut. Soggy Bottom Bar is located at 613 M L King Ave., Flint.

Friday, June 29; 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.Tenacity Brewing. Get in on the organic sounds of Jason Waggoner and enjoy one of the bar’s extraordinary brews. Tenacity Brewing is located at 119 N. Grand Traverse Street.

Friday, June 29; 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. – Tenacity Brewing. It’s Reggae night at Tenacity! Join DAB (David Asher Band) for live music. DJ Lionheart will spin tunes between sets.

Friday, June 29; 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.Burgers & Brews – Buckham Alley. Bring your appetite to Flint’s bodacious burgers and brews fest taking place in Buckham Alley. A $5 donation gets you sampling and voting rights on your favorite celebrity favorite. Timothy’s Pub will be working hard to make it a “three-peat.” Last year the two-time winner took the crown with their Maggie’s Boozy Burger entry. They’ll be competing against The Torch, The Laundry, Blondies Food and Spirits and other area favorites who plan to come with their A game.

Saturday, June 30; 9 p.m.Churchill’s Food & Spirits. Get into the spirit of things at Churchill’s and welcome heavy rock group Glass Empires to the stage. This iconic establishment is located at 340 S. Saginaw St. in Flint’s historic downtown district.

Market Tap is Flint’s full service rooftop bar.

Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays; noon – 10 p.m. – Market Tap. Take it outdoors at Flint’s full service rooftop bar located on the second floor of the Flint Farmer’s Market located at 300 E. 1st St.

Thursday, June 28; 5 p.m. – 2 a.m.Raspberries’ Live Smooth Jazz. Enjoy Chef D’s catfish and local sounds at Raspberries Rhythm Bar & Grill 448 S. Saginaw St. in Flint’s downtown business district.

Wednesday, July 4; 6:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. $3/family $10 – The FSO’s 4th of July Concert returns to the grounds of Atwood Stadium located at Second Avenue and Stone Street. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. The Flint Symphony Orchestra (FSO) will play at 7 p.m. with fireworks commencing at 9:30 p.m.

Friday, July 6; 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. The FIA’s Palette Café kicks of its free Friday Night Happy Hour featuring complimentary samples of Angry Orchard Rosé and drink specials from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Get in on the giant lawn games like Jenga, Connect 4, Cornhole and Frisbee. The Flint Institute of Arts is located at 1120 E Kearsley St. in Flint’s Cultural District.

Friday, July 6; 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. (Doors open 6:30 p.m.) – It’s Mic Night at Buckham Gallery. Show off your theatrical, musical, spoken word and other performing arts skills (acoustics and small amps; 10 min set limit). Beverages (bottled water, coffee) and cookies are a part of the gig. The gallery is located at 134 ½ W. Second St.

Yoga at Sloan Musuem’s Yoga under The Stars is a great way to stay fit.

REGISTER NOW July 15; 5:30 p.m. – 7p.m. $20 cost – Get your glow on at Sloan Musuem’s Yoga under The Stars. A limited number of mats are available to participants, the setting “under the stars” is free and a part of the popular experience. $20, Pre-registration required for the activity at 1221 E. REGISTER NOW. July 21; 9 a.m. – $50 application; fundraiser. Climbers determined to be on the edge of greatness, this one’s for you. Descend 100 feet down The Durant alone or with fellow team members, as a part of this fundraising event benefitting The Disability Network (TDN) hosted by The Durant and Over the Edge. You have to be at least 18 years of age, have a guardian’s permission (under 18) or be legally insane (okay, that’s an editor’s note). Rappel weight limits are 100 – 300 pounds.

Saturday, July 28; 5:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. FREE– Catch The Game Plan during Movies Under the Stars at Atwood Stadium. Here’s chance to catch a flick beneath the shimmering light of far-away stars, enjoy complimentary water, popcorn and treats, and get in the drawing to win t-shirts and gift cards. Atwood Stadium is located at 701 University Ave. in Flint.
