A sign of improvement in Flint’s local economy is also a reason for residents to dust off their resumes for an Aug. 23 event at Baker College.

More work means more opportunities in the city, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. anyone seeking entry-level positions can attend the Flint & Genesee Job & Resource Fair. Open to anyone 18 and older, the fair will also bring together community agencies that offer career preparation, financial and health services.

“This event has truly become a one-stop shop for job-seekers,” says James Avery, Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce’s director of education and training. “Attendees can meet with employers face-to-face and they can connect with a variety of organizations that offer important services in Genesee County.”

Park Place Hair Studio will offer grooming services and 2^nd Time Around Consignment will donate clothing and accessories for job candidates.
